Rookwood has been home to Rupert and Charlotte Digby and their family for over 25 years.
Charlotte rose to the challenge of developing the 2 acre sloping garden into a series of terraced "rooms" with a pond and stream. In the spring it has a breathtaking array of different bulbs including Tulips, Crocus, Hyacinths, Narcissi and Cyclamen making the garden a tapestry of colour.

Summer brings out the beautiful colour themed herbaceous borders and the gravel garden which has some wonderful planting. These include a collection of Buddleias Giant Alliums flourish under an arched walkway of Clematis, Vines and Roses.

A remarkable feature is the parterre vegetable garden of geometrically designed raised beds, bordered by espalier fruit trees and an expanse of sweet peas which scent the area.

In summary, Rookwood garden part of the NGS Scheme is well worth a visit both for keen gardeners and for those of us who just enjoy a beautiful spectacle.
